Weeknight Full Closure: October 25 - 29, 2021
Full nightly closures from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (weeknights) will take place from Monday through Friday, at night. No through traffic allowed during these hours. All motorist will be turned around at 10:00 p.m., alternate routes must be utilized to get to your destinations. There will be no exceptions allowed. Residents and commuters will need to utilize the alternate routes to go around the closure each night BEGINNING AT 10:00 p.m. Reminder: All passes are INVALID!
This week, work will take place just west of the Live Oak Candy store and Ortega Oaks RV Park. All residents will have access to and from Lake Elsinore, by escorted pilot car, but no access to Orange County. To get to and from Orange County during these hours, through traffic, including residents, must utilize a detour route and go around.
Residents (who live in the project zone) must show proof of residency and will be escorted in and out of the construction zones from their designated areas of access (OC or Lake Elsinore). Please remember this is an ACTIVE construction zone! The contractor may be changing locations nightly, which will affect the direction of travel for residents that live within the construction zone.
Reminder: Crews will continue to work in various locations throughout the project zone. One-way traffic control with flagging and pilot vehicles will be in place from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During the hours of 10:01 p.m. to 5 a.m., the route will be closed to through traffic, at the above-mentioned locations, for roadway excavation operations. It is advised to use an alternative route to avoid these long delays such as SR-91 and I-15 and the I-5.
Be advised, you may experience long waits, up to and possibly exceeding 2-hours, due to construction operations. Please wait for the designated pilot car to escort you through the construction zone. Please obey all posted signs and traffic instructions, including the pilot escort car, as CHP will be on location and citing any offenders.
Reminder: The availability of alternate routes within this area of SR 74 my change – meaning, the construction zone will change nightly resulting in, some areas not having access to Orange County or Lake Elsinore, and vice versa. Please plan ahead. A new commuter alert will be issued with locations of full closure as soon as the location of work is determined. Any day work required will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a flagging operation to assist in traffic control.
No 55-hr closures will occur during the month of October.
